📶 What is the difference between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz frequencies?
There are two frequencies used by the Wi-Fi network to transmit a signal: 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz.
The main difference between these two frequencies is the distance over which they will transmit:
- The 2.4 GHz frequency will transmit over a longer distance. It is also the frequency most often used for connected objects
- The 5 GHz frequency transmits over a shorter distance and is therefore slightly faster
📶 What is the frequency to connect My Fabulous Storyteller?
The Wi-Fi router's default frequency is 2.4 GHz. If you have a dual-band router, both frequencies will be available in your list of Wi-Fi networks.
👉 You will need to choose the 2.4 GHz frequency to connect your Fabulous Storyteller to your Wi-Fi.
📶 I don't know what frequency my network uses
Usually, the 5 GHz frequency is easy to identify. You will have access to two Wi-Fi networks of the same name, with the frequency indicated at the end.
For example: Livebox-0058_5GHz and Livebox-0058. In this case, simply select the Livebox-0058 network to use the 2.4 GHz frequency.
The frequency used depends on your Internet provider. If you only have access to one network and want to check that the frequency used is 2.4 GHz, you'll need to check your Internet provider customer account.
📶 Mon réseau est en 5 GHz et il ne s'affiche pas dans les réseaux Wi-FiMy network is 5 GHz and is not displayed in Wi-Fi networks
Networks based on the 5 GHz frequency will not be displayed in the Wi-Fi networks on the Lunii mobile application.
So if your Internet box is switched on, you are right next to it and your network doesn't appear in the list (or no Wi-Fi network is detected, c.f. screenshot below), it is highly likely that your network is 5 GHz 😉
To change frequency to 2.4 GHz, contact your Internet provider to find a solution 👈
